How Can I help You?

Hello and welcome to my “Meet Cindy” page!  Here you learn about me, about my business and about how I can help you.

Below my photo above,  I outlined some tidbits about me, who I am and what my life was like as a young girl growing up in Delaware.

NOW FOR MORE DETAILS

I was the 3rd oldest of 9 children and the oldest of 7 girls.  It was fun for me to have 2 older brothers to lean on as well.

The role as the oldest girl forced me to have responsibilities early in life.  The lessons I learned were leadership and taking control.  Some would call that controlling.  I called it having control and being in control to handle lots of different experiences, making it easy for me to take the role of leadership.  I was very nurturing, compassionate and caring to both my family and friends.

After High School, I went to college for 2 years but always had a desire to work for myself.  The dream was just that, a dream.  I ended up working in office settings as an executive assistant, office manager and  other roles throughout my adult life in the areas of medical, legal and education.

Like many of us, I got married, had 2 wonderful sons and became a wife, mother, caretaker, married for 20 years spending married life with my husband and children in Maryland, Georgia and North Carolina, where I currently reside.

THEN MY LIFE TOOK A TURN- DIVORCE!

After 20 years, my marriage fell apart, kids began sharing 2 homes with 2 parents who loved them and I had to learn how to pick up the pieces and move on.  It took some time to do that and I was scared to death.   Like many babyboomer moms, I gave up my career path to raise children and take jobs that accommodated the kids schedules.  After my divorce,  I was forced to make decisions for further education and learning current skills so I went back to school, went back to work full time and dealt with the struggles of raising teenagers alone in my own home.

THINGS TURNED AROUND – OR SO I THOUGHT!

I went back to school to learn about business and marketing and I soaked up as much information as I could through reading , taking classes, networking and spending nights and weekends loving every minute of the new lessons. Learning marketing became a new love of mine and it served me well when  I finally got a great job working in a great company for several years, still loving my new classes in business and marketing.

THEN CAME THE ECONOMIC DOWNTURN OF 2009 – TWICE!

In 2009 I got laid off of my job of 3 years at the age of 54.   Luckily I was giving enough notice to try and find a new job.  It took several months to find a job, having to take a pay cut but I got the job anyway and put my heart and soul into the new job until 4 months later, when I got laid off again at the age of 55.  Now, I was at a loss again, trying to find a new job, apply for unemployment and figuring out where to go from here.

HERE COMES MY NEW BUSINESS – BECOMING SELF EMPLOYED

It was February of 2009 when I got laid off of my 2nd job in less than 6 months.  After the fear of uncertainty and financial worries, I continued to look for another job and spent my time, when I wasn’t interviewing, concentrating on options to start a home based business.   When I realized how much age discrimination there was out there in the workforce and how many skills I had to carry me into my own business, I began getting the courage and strength I needed to explore my options.

I joined a network of other baby boomers looking for other options and discovered the world of online marketing and how I can use those platforms to build my own business.  I soaked up all the training I could find, I traveled to 4 Live Events, I took a coaching class, set up 2 WordPress blogs, networked both locally and traveled to meet my new facebook friends in person.

Now I am coaching newbies who are looking for solutions and resources to help them build an online business.  This is done through step by step coaching and consulting as I walk you through your NEW biz.
